Job Description:

The Purchaser will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services required for NESI’s operations. The Purchaser will collaborate closely with project engineering and electrolyser manufacturing teams to support project timelines while maintaining high quality and cost efficiency. This role demands strong organizational and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the optimization of the supply chain and help drive NESI’s mission of sustainability and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials, components, and services in alignment with project specifications and company requirements.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors and suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and qualifying new suppliers to ensure a competitive and reliable supply chain.
  • Process purchase orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain supplier databases and purchase databases within NESI’s software platform
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to procurement processes based on industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
  • Familiarity with industrial or technical components, particularly in the chemical or electrochemical industries, is an asset.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
