The Mechanical Technician – Electrolysers will play a critical role in the assembly of
NORSCAND electrolysers. The technician will be involved in the assembly of
electrolysers, setup of assembly facilities, quality control of parts, and
support for research projects. This role demands strong technical skills,
attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of
a team. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement
of assembly processes and help drive NESI’s mission of sustainability and
innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of NORSCAND electrolysers, ensuring alignment with engineering blueprints and specifications.
- Assist in the design and setup of the NORSCAND assembly facility.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure materials and components are available for assembly tasks.
- Package and crate completed electrolysers for shipment.
- Perform quality control on incoming components.
- Support the engineering team in mechanical system installations and configurations for research projects at the BCRI pilot plant.
- Document assembly processes and outcomes, contributing to the development of standard operating procedures.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to assembly processes and equipment designs based on hands-on experience.
- Assist with research projects at the NESI pilot plant located at BCRI as needed.
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or equivalent experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience in mechanical assembly or production environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
