The Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various types of industrial instrumentation. This includes pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors, as well as control valves and analyzers, mainly related to electrochemical processes.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards, during commissioning and start-up activities, both in-house and at customers’ sites.
- Assist in updating and maintaining documentation, including instrument indexes, I/O lists, instrument data sheets, wiring and instrument installation schematics and data books.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to understand and implement system requirements.
- Provide technical support to other disciplines, both internal and client’s project teams.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation issues, both in-house and at customers’ sites.
Qualifications:
- Red seal Instrumentation and Control Technician, or Industrial Instrument Mechanic
- Proven experience in a similar role in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of process control and instrumentation principles.
- Proficiency in using various types of calibration equipment and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- PLC and HMI programming, as well as AutoCAD and Microsoft Access competence will be considered assets.
Working Conditions:
This position requires traveling internationally and working in various conditions, including outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, and in potentially hazardous environments.
Physical Requirements:
The Instrumentation Technologist must be physically capable of carrying out all assigned duties, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
